Finding the right job is by no means easy, but there are many things that you can do to help the right job find its way to you. Letting a job find you, is in no way passive, you won’t be sitting by the lake fishing and waiting for your cell phone to ring, you have to get your name out there, and make sure it’s in the circles that are frequented by hiring managers. There are many ways that this can be accomplished, but one of the most efficient and convenient ways is online.

There are numerous places online that you can post your resume, but these are also frequented by many under-qualified applicants, and as a result, an employer will use these types of sites as a last resort. The best way to get noticed in the right circles is by using something that most of us use every day anyway, social media. You probably already have a personal account on at least one social media site; make a professional page as well. Promote your professional page in much the same way that you would promote a web site, use key words that are relevant to your job search and leave blogs at job related websites linking back to your social media page. By using the right key words and social media, there is even a chance that you’ll be noticed by search engines.

On any social media there are different groups, do a little research and perhaps join a group that could be helpful in your search, such as discussion groups about your field of work, or groups of people who are currently working in your field.

Be sure to update your status regularly, if not daily. A prospective employer who sees that your page hasn’t been updated for weeks probably won’t consider you. Finding a job is not necessarily any easier than it used to be, but with the technology that we have today, getting the word out that you are qualified and looking, is easier than ever if you know how to do it.

The way we live has restored one of the best parts of friendship: helping one another. Establishing a support group empowers each of us to succeed in achieving our goals and meeting our schedules. Perhaps today is the day you are supposed to send cookies to kindergarten. You are halfway to work when you realize you completely forgot. A simple call to your neighbor before she takes your son and her daughter to class gets the task accomplished.

Somewhere along the line those ties of family and friendship became subdued memories. The self-sufficient attitude enforced itself a bit too much, resulting in too much to do with not enough skills or time to accomplish it. Recreating the support system actually lets us become better than we are, rather than weakening our abilities.

As friends and families discuss their hopes and dreams, ideas to make those plans come true spring forward. Perhaps someone is seeking a part-time job or needs someone to clean out the garage. Another member of the group may be considering hiring someone several hours a week. A church group you belong to may be looking for a project to help elderly citizens in the community. That cluttered garage can be organized lickety-split.

Helping one another restores the feeling of importance and belonging. Finding 3 or 4 others interested in walking on certain days means there will always be someone there to walk with. Offering to babysit for a few hours a week gives a young mom time to go shopping or visit friends for some “me” time. The ideas help each person reach goals through helping one another.

We all know how important it is to pay the bills and keep food on the table, and that means maintaining lucrative employment is a must. However, many of us simply do not enjoy what we do to make a living. Many times, the humdrum, repetitive tasks we are asked to perform seem to have little meaning at all. Other times, we begin to feel that it is the other people we are forced to be around every day that makes us a grumpy mess. Then there are those people who are not required to work for an income who simply do not act as if they are enjoying their lives at all. What is going on?

It could be that many people have lost touch with the very meaning of life itself and that carries over to everything else they do. One has to wonder if there is a way to correct this. It may be helpful to remember that we are defined by our reactions to what is going on around us, not the other way around. Our circumstances have little to do with how we perceive the world.

It is not unusual to see two people working side by side, leading practically identical lives, but one appears to be angry all the time while the other whistles while he works. What is it that creates this difference? Outlook! It is what is inside each of us that determine how we see our situations. Each of the people mentioned above, when placed in a different environment, would surely not be transformed unless they were willing to give their permission for that to happen.

In order to get meaning out of life, one has to search for it in the most unlikely circumstances.

On Page

Not a whole lot has changed with on page stuff other than we are seeing other metrics being introduced into the algorithm.

Unique on page copy, product descriptions etc… as always no ground ground breaking news here, use tools like Open Site Explorer to find duplicate issues.

Unique Titles for each and every page, Include your exact match keywords, but don’t over use them or stuff… again not rocket science… use Google Webmaster tools or Open Site Explorer here

Compelling, Descriptive, EYE Grabbing Meta Descriptions for your search snippets… while this may not have a direct effect on your rankings what it does is increase click through’s which is a usage metric being monitored and is said to be implemented into the algo already.

Make sure everything on your page is directly relevant for the search term/s you are pushing for. With your chief aim being to decrease the bounce rate and increase the time on page, another usage metric that is said to be playing a part in the algo. Your goal here is to keep the searchers attention with your content and keep them on your page without bouncing back to the serps for as long as possible, which will send a signal to Google saying that your page is directly relevant or a good result for that term.

OFF Page

Link Building still works, however as the Algo changes we have to adapt our strategies. We are now only using unique content to build links directly to your money sites. This obviously increase cost so you will not see as many links being built each month. However, what you will start to see is that the Page Authority of your inbound links will begin to increase over time. This is due to the fact that we will also be building relevant links to your tier 1 links, as well as tier 2 links.

You might also notice a different in the anchor text that is being linked to your sites. Gone are the days when you could build hundreds of links for exact match phrases as well as stay under the radar. We have been taking a more natural approach with the anchor text on these unique content contextual links. You will start to see more and more partial match anchor text phrases being linked to your sites. For example, if your main money keyword phrase is “Dell Computers” you might see incoming anchor text phrases like “Dell” “Computers” “Desktop Computers” Laptop Dell Computers” “Dell Desktop” etc…

Things you should take a look at internally and tools that are useful. This part is really for anyone who feels they may have been penalized, lost traffic and or rankings, or have seen a decrease in sales.

Make sure you are ranking in the top 30 for your sites domain name (domainname.com and domain name). Ideally you want to rank #1 for these terms but if you own a domain like buyrealestate.com then chances are you won’t be.

If you think your site could be penalized and you would like further diagnoses then please don’t hesitate to contact us, we do offer consulting. Or if you would just like a list of things to dig in to, let us know.

Internet Consulting Now is comprised of a family of Social Media Marketing and SEO professionals that are extremely compassionate about RESULTS. Together we have a whopping 30 years of experience and a proven track record. Our SEO strategies are PROVEN and TESTED. Together, we have successfully launched multiple eCommerce sites, affiliate sites, and lead generation sites.

Meet the Internet Consulting Now Team

Meet Colby

The first thing you should know about me is that I entered the SEO world in an interesting way. It all began in 2003, when I started my first affiliate site, and began promoting a variety of sporting goods online. The domain and site building software was a Christmas gift from my parents that grew into much more. I was bitten by the Internet bug and had started to realize the possibilities of what a strategically optimized site could offer.

Then later, in 2006, I took a great job as a CSR for the largest internet marketing company at the time, StomperNet. It was the best business education I ever had, working on the ‘front lines’ of a huge online company. I was hired by Andy Jenkins and was fortunate enough to work with him as well as Jerry West, Dan Thies, Leslie Rhode, Don Crowther, and Brad Fallon etc. After 3 years of working for StomperNet I decided it was time to put the education to work for me. Since 2003, I’ve launched many successful affiliate and eCommerce sites.

To that end, my father and I along with the rest of our staff have spent countless hours developing and testing different strategies to keep us and our clients… ahead of the SEO curve. We all know that Google’s algorithm is constantly changing, this is why we test. Everything we do is tested and proven. We aren’t just some fly by night SEO firm that’s here today and gone the next. Affiliate Marketing and eCommerce is what we do… it’s our livelihood… it’s how we put food on the table… trust me… we like food on the table so we are pretty good at what we do.

“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.” – Jerry Rice

Give me a call today as I’m eager to learn more about your business and show you how I can be a asset.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Technology has always intrigued me since I was a young child. I first learned about the E-Commerce world from my parents, Freddie and Joyce Brister, who has been in and around the internet marketing world since 1999. My first Internet business related job was in 2004 when I was still in High School. I started working for my parents in the shipping/customer service department at one of their E-Commerce businesses. Since then I have been working doing various jobs for their many affiliate and E-Commerce sites.

I just received my Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix Online. I tried going to ground college but the online atmosphere fit my personality and lifestyle. I seemed to actually enjoy “going” to school online a lot better than at a ground college.
Now that I have graduated college, I plan to further my career in the Internet world. I am working with my family, the Internet Consulting Now Team, as well as starting my own E-Commerce and Affiliate sites.
